About Jordan
Jordan Schug has been an active professional musician for over 20 years on double bass, electric bass, and cello. His unique loop pedal cello performances have grabbed the attention of many audiences. He also created and runs a string players education program called "Independent Strings," where he teaches string players how to improvise in ensembles using classical, pop and jazz themes. He has performed at the Detroit Jazz festival 6 different years. He has shared the stage with many world class musicians, including Richie Cole, John Clayton, James Carter, The Hot Club of Detroit, Jon Hendricks, Cyrille Aimee, Dwight Adams, Rick Rowe, Andrew Bishop, Laith Al-Saadi and Rob Avsharian. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of North Texas School of Music in 2005, and his master's degree from the University of Michigan School of Music in 2014.
